Green Crate is an online grocery store that sells organic produce to the residents of South California in bulk. The company sources its freshly grown fruits and vegetables from their local farm and delivers them to customers at competitive prices. Green Crate is committed to GMO-free practices and believes in providing value for money. It saves one the hassle of wasting time in long lines, or the trouble of going through retail markups that are bound to skyrocket prices! Also, Green Crate strictly adheres to its self-imposed sustainability policy whereby all processes are disassociated from any form of harm to the environment. As an organic food producer catering to a western state, the company positions itself around certain key selling points; in that, delivery is always prompt and customers are allowed to customize their crates.

Through a collaboration with Ultimate Designerz, Green crates’ website follows a simple layout supported by sleek features. At first glance, visitors can tell what the site is offering. As the company focuses on money-savvy convenience seekers, the website is built to accommodate specific modes of consumer behavior. Options to sort and filter through various items have been made available as well.

PROCESS

With Green Crate, we were determined to develop a ‘clean’ website pattern as we believed it would effectively synchronize with the brand message. Therefore, after consistently going back and forth with Green Crate representatives and factoring in what they would prefer, we came up with an all-white interface that emphasizes products over everything else. As always, feedback was key and the best option was selected after adequate planning and tweaking. They wanted their brand to stand out in terms of convenience which is often lacking when someone visits physical outlets. Another important goal was to get the website to rank locally and for that a solid SEO strategy was an understood prerequisite; which was therefore, wisely executed on our part.
